Where Can I Park My Car at the Port of Miami on Royal Caribbean

Be prepared to pay $20 a day to park in one of 3 covered garages that are next to the cruise ship terminal. You will pay upfront (cash, major credit card or US traveler's check only) – not when you leave. (verified August 2010)

There are several offsite parking lots with shuttles to the Miami port – the savings can be significant. If you are arriving by car the night before your cruise, several of the hotels in the area may let you leave your car in their lot while you cruise. However, you will need to stay at least one night before your cruise – look for "Park 'n Stay" rates advertised by the hotel. These hotels usually have a shuttle to take you to and from the cruise port. (verified April 2010)

When does my flight need to arrive in Miami for my Royal Caribbean cruise?

If you are flying in to Miami International Airport (MIA) or Ft. Lauderdale Airport (FLL) on the day of your cruise make sure you allow plenty of time to get to the ship. Royal Caribbean recommends arriving in to FLL by 2:00 PM and MIA by 2:30 PM at the latest on the day of embarkation. After your cruise, your flight should not leave before 11:30 AM from MIA and 12:00 PM from FLL. (verified September 2010)

Yes, the cruise lines offer bus transfers, but, for two people, a cab is a cheaper, more efficient option (and you don't have to wait for a bus to be filled-up before leaving the airport for the cruise port). (verified November 2010)

Money Saving Advice when Buying a Royal Caribbean Cruise

  • Best advice we can give: the earlier you book, the better. Prices for early bookers tend to be lower, and, the best cabins on Royal Caribbean ships book first.
  • We show all discounts. When you search for cruises on our site, we will ask questions that will qualify you for the best available rate – are you over 55, active or retired military, past passenger (Crown & Anchor Society) with Royal Caribbean, etc.
  • If you are flying to your cruise departure port, buy your air separately from your cruise. You will almost certainly find a better deal versus buying your air ticket with your cruise.
  • Never pay a service fee to book a cruise. There are web sites who will charge $24.99 to book a cruise with them. We can book you the same cruise for the same price, and, we do not charge service fees.
