Where Can I Park My Car at the Port of Baltimore on Royal Caribbean?

Baltimore  cruises deport from the South Locust Point Cruise Ship Terminal. Be prepared to pay $15/day for a car, $20/day for an RV and $25/day for a bus a to park in the secured parking lot. Advance reservations are not needed. The parking lot is within walking distance of the Passenger Building with courtesy shuttles with handicapped access available. Keep in mind you will pay upfront for parking (cash or US traveler's check only) – not when you leave. (verified September 2010)

There are several offsite parking lots with shuttles to the Baltimore port – the savings can be significant. If you are arriving by car the night before your cruise, several of the hotels in the area may let you leave your car in their lot while you cruise. However, you will need to stay at least one night before your cruise – look for "Park 'n Stay" rates advertised by the hotel. These hotels usually have a shuttle to take you to and from the cruise port. (verified September 2010)

Rates are subject to change by the Port of Baltimore at anytime.

When does my flight need to arrive in Baltimore for my Royal Caribbean cruise?

Three airports serve the Greater Baltimore/Washington area: Ronald Reagan International (DCA), Dulles International (IAD) and Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) with being the closest.  Conventional wisdom dictates that if you are arriving at either Ronald Reagan (DCA) or Dulles International (IAD), fly in the day before. Traffic delays in and around the Beltway of Washington are the rule rather than the exception.

Also keep in mind that if one airport is dealing with fog or other weather activity, chances are good that the others will also be affected. Make the commitment to arrive the day before the cruise.

There are several options to get from Dulles International (IAD) and Ronald Reagan (DCA) to the Baltimore Cruise Port. Options include van service, the MARC (Maryland Area Regional Commuter) train, and Amtrak. The cheapest will usually be the MARC, but it does make a few stops along the way, plus you will change to a bus to get to the actual port area. Amtrak is a bit faster but also costs more. Van service may or may not be a better alternative depending upon how many stops it makes during the course of your trip.

Plan on a minimum of three hours to get from either IAD or DCA to the Baltimore South Locust Point Cruise Ship terminal. Not all of that time will be spent in transit but also in waiting on vans, trains, etc.

If you are flying in to Baltimore International Airport (BWI) on the day of your cruise make sure you allow plenty of time to get to the ship. Royal Caribbean recommends arriving in to BWI by 12:30 PM at the latest on the day of embarkation. After your cruise, your flight should not leave before 12:30 PM from BWI. (verified September 2010)

Money Saving Advice when Buying a Royal Caribbean Cruise

  • Best advice we can give: the earlier you book, the better. Prices for early bookers tend to be lower, and, the best cabins on Royal Caribbean ships book first.
  • We show all discounts. When you search for cruises on our site, we will ask questions that will qualify you for the best available rate – are you over 55, active or retired military, past passenger (Crown & Anchor Society) with Royal Caribbean, etc.
  • If you are flying to your cruise departure port, buy your air separately from your cruise. You will almost certainly find a better deal versus buying your air ticket with your cruise.
  • Never pay a service fee to book a cruise. There are web sites who will charge $24.99 to book a cruise with them. We can book you the same cruise for the same price, and, we do not charge service fees.
